oh thank you!! so cool that When You Reach Me is your favorite book! it is such a gem as for my website history, I started the actual website two years ago, but I daydreamed about it for months before that. I had a basic idea of what my homepage would look like (I remember making a sketch of it on canva), so I started with recreating that on html/css with my basic coding knowledge and a lot of searching on the internet how to do specific stuff. But you really don't need to do all that to start, you can find free to use templates and start playing around with css to personalize them. I have a page with most of the resources I use here where you can hopefully find something useful :tu: good luck with your site! P.S. I really enjoyed listening to Put A Smile On For Me, ty for the rec!
